"'I thought we were talking about your
disgust for werewolves.'"
-New Moon by Stephenie Meyer pg 307
This example shows the fantasy of Stephenie Meyer. She creates
this werewolf, Jacob Black, to be a werewolf instead of human. This excerpt has a fanciful tone in that it
shows the fantasy world that is unreal and imagination. Meyer uses her imagination to describe a boy as she imagines it in
her own mind. Throughout the book and her other books, Meyer describes the process of changing to a werewolf and how it feels
and what Jscob does as a werewolf and makes it so clear, yet we obviously know it is unreal. Yet through this fanciful
tone, we know that it is fiction and her creativity that brings Jacob Black to life.
